Swallowing:

Offering comprehensive support for swallowing abnormalities. Some difficulties may include throat clearing or coughing during and after meals, wet or gurgly sounding voice quality during and after meals, difficulty swallowing medications down, feelings as if something is stuck in your throat, the need to swallow multiple times to get foods, pills, or liquids down, recurrent pneumonia, liquids or saliva drips from the mouth, and pulmonary hygiene.

Cognition & Executive Function:

Providing specialized assistance for cognitive communication impairments, helping individuals enhance their higher-level decision making and communication abilities. Difficulties may include:

Speech and language changes after a stroke or head injury, mild cognitive impairments, memory difficulties, name and word recall, difficulty sequencing steps to complete activities of daily living, and problem-solving decision making, and r​​​​educed comprehension and participation in conversations.

Voice: 

Delivering expertise that extends to addressing voice disorders, working with clients to improve vocal quality and resonance as related to difficulty with breath support for speech and/or swallow, reduced volume, breathy, hoarse, or harsh quality, changes after tracheostomy tube status. or overall change in your voice.

Speech & Articulation: 

Our speech therapy services can assist individuals in improving articulation and pronunciation, enabling clearer and more intelligible speech.​

Dysarthria and slurred speech can also be addressed through speech therapy. Sometimes these are resultant from the effects of a stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, or other etiologies.

Language:

Specializing in aiding language development helping individuals enhance their vocabulary, grammar, and overall language comprehension in conversation and reading skills. Deficits may include difficulty with word relationships, part-to-whole relationships, naming items and associations, answering questions (yes/no, what, who, when how, why), ​describing nouns or subjects, understanding synonyms and antonyms, ​functions of nouns, categorization, similarities and differences, and nonliteral language.​
